Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci announced today that the City of Lakes Family Health Team has been approved to build a new clinic in Walden.
"The addition of this new Family Health Team means more Sudburians will have access to health care professionals working collaboratively in order to provide a comprehensive level of care," said Bartolucci.
The provincial funding announcement means that Walden should have a new family health team clinic by the end of 2010. The funds will be used to renovate the former Town of Walden municipal building on Black Lake Road. The City of Greater Sudbury is providing matching funds for this capital project. City Council approved the funding during their 2010 budget deliberations.
The clinic will accommodate four new family physicians including: Dr. Katherine Richardson, Dr. Sarah Duncan, Dr. Monica Susil and Dr. Liisa Lavasseur. They will access the Ontario Health Care Connect program to roster patients to their practice.
