Directors from Family Health Teams across northeastern Ontario gathered in Sudbury to learn about the Personal Health Information Protection Act. Participants learned about such things as compliance with privacy legislation, the role of the Privacy Officer, creating a culture of privacy, security and safeguards, patient consent, disclosures access, and privacy breaches.
The sessions will help Directors ensure that the privacy and confidentiality of a patient’s personal health record are protected. The sessions were facilitated by Mary Jane Dykeman & Kate Dewhirst of DDO Health Law.
