COVID-19: Local Community Resources

If are looking for local resources to assist you during the COVID pandemic, we have compiled a list supports:

FINANCIAL SUPPORTS:

Ontario Works:

Ontario Works. Applications are by phone or online. Tom Davies Square is closed to the Public as of March 19th 2020.

Those who are waiting for EI can also apply to Ontario Works if they need financial support sooner. There is a maximum for assets.

Call 705-675-2411.  An intake screener will ask you a series of questions including the reason why you are applying for assistance. We will complete a referral and assign it to a caseworker.

-For those who are under quarantine or sick due to covid-19 and have already applied you can call 1-833-381-2725 which is a specialized line for questions. 

 

FOOD INSTABILITY/DELIVERY and TRANSPORTATION SUPPORTS

Entry is reduced to a single point entry, and heightened sanitation measures are in place. They are waiving their intake processes at this time. People just need to show up with a piece of ID and bag their own food.

Meals on Wheels

They are operating as usual with the following modifications: Food that is delivered will be left outside the person’s home or apartment door.

Grocery Delivery Supports

  • All Independent Grocers and Real Canadian Superstores offer instacart
  • Grocery Guy at 705-586-0848 or can email orders. Services are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm and Saturday 11am to 5pm. Orders must be $50 or more. Delivery charge is $19.00
  • Takeout taxi at 705-988-4666. Delivery charge is $10.00
  • Turk King is offering free delivery of prescriptions and household goods. Call 705-525-0368 

Food Delivery:

-Italian Club. Will deliver food for $3 to Copper Cliff, Lively, South End.

-Many local restaurants are offering pick up and food delivery services.

 

TRANSPORTATION SERVICES:

Red Cross, Sudbury branch.

They are down to using 4 vehicles and have limited access to drivers. They are prioritizing dialysis and medical appointments. 

 

LOCAL MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORTS
