We have received several requests in recent months from people looking for a new family physician. There have been multiple retirements of local family physicians during the pandemic and this has led to a significant increase in unattached patients across Greater Sudbury.
In past years, we have maintained a “Request a Physician” option on the home page of our website. Unfortunately, that wait list for unattached patients exceeds 2,000 names and we have temporarily suspended the registry until it has been reduced to a more realistic number.
We appreciate how important it is for everyone to have access to a primary care provider. And how looking for a new physician is difficult and frustrating for people; however, our clerical team is being inundated with calls and it is making it difficult for our patients to get through the phone lines at our clinics. We ask that you NOT call our clinics if you are looking for a new family physician.
